FIFA has named TikTok its first platform partner in the organization’s history, granting the app exclusive access to select FIFA World Cup 2026 content and a more central role in the tournament’s digital distribution. The partnership is positioned as a “Preferred Platform” agreement and will run through the end of 2026.

The deal will be anchored by an official FIFA World Cup 2026 hub on TikTok, powered by TikTok GamePlan, where FIFA plans to publish official content and add fan-facing features such as viewing and ticket information. TikTok will also host interactive formats intended to keep fans engaged across the full tournament cycle, not only during matchdays.

Creators move closer to the tournament, from training grounds to archives

A central piece of the rollout is a structured creator program. FIFA and TikTok plan to give a select group of creators access to behind-the-scenes moments, including national team training sessions and press conferences, so fans can follow storylines beyond matchday highlights. The announcement does not identify the creators by name.

In parallel, a wider group of creators will be allowed to use and co-create with FIFA archival footage, expanding the pool of officially sourced material available for commentary, explainers, and historical throwbacks. FIFA positions this approach as an evolution of its earlier collaboration with TikTok around the 2023 Women’s World Cup, which both sides say generated very large viewing totals on the platform.

Broadcasters gain new TikTok distribution and monetization options

The deal also opens the door for FIFA World Cup 2026 official media partners to do more inside TikTok itself. FIFA says broadcasters will be able to livestream parts of matches, publish more curated clips, and use special FIFA-produced content tailored for TikTok’s format and audience behavior.

Commercially, rights-holders will have the option to monetize their World Cup coverage via TikTok’s premium advertising solutions. FIFA and TikTok also emphasize that TikTok will apply anti-piracy measures intended to protect FIFA’s IP during the tournament cycle.
