Brazilian betting operator Betano has faced allegations that it encouraged customers to leave positive reviews by offering them free bets and other bonuses.

The accusations concern reviews posted on Reclame Aqui, one of Brazil’s most popular consumer complaint and review platforms. According to customer reports examined by journalists, some users said they were offered promotional bonuses after contacting Betano’s customer support.

The company has denied that its bonus programmes were designed to influence customer ratings.

Journalists Found 35 Similar Reports

The investigation reportedly identified 35 customer messages describing similar experiences.

Several users claimed that, after raising an issue with Betano’s support team, they were asked to leave a positive review about the operator. In return, they said they were offered free bets or promotional credits.

Some customers also alleged that the promised bonuses were never ultimately credited to their accounts.

Betano Rejects the Allegations

Betano disputed the accusations and said its bonuses were issued as part of internal marketing and promotional programmes.

According to the company, the offers were subject to specific terms and conditions and were not intended to influence customer opinions or ratings on Reclame Aqui.

The dispute has nevertheless raised questions about the relationship between gambling operators’ promotional campaigns and consumer review platforms.
