Major League Soccer’s commercial arm, Soccer United Marketing (SUM), has entered a new multi-year partnership with Polymarket, naming the prediction markets platform an official partner of MLS and an official partner of Leagues Cup in the United States.

Under the agreement, Polymarket will serve as the league’s official and exclusive prediction market partner, extending across MLS, the MLS All-Star Game, MLS Cup presented by Audi, and Leagues Cup. MLS and SUM said the move underscores their emphasis on innovation and positions MLS among the first global soccer leagues to integrate prediction market insights directly into the fan experience.

What “exclusive” means and where fans will see it

The partnership is designed to translate prediction-market activity into official, league-adjacent digital experiences. MLS and Polymarket said they will collaborate on new fan-facing features across MLS digital platforms, with an emphasis on enhancing live match viewing and “second-screen” engagement during games and tournaments.

Polymarket’s CEO Shayne Coplan framed the deal as a way to surface real-time collective sentiment around key match moments, matchups, and season-long storylines giving supporters a more interactive and data-driven layer alongside traditional coverage. On the league side, MLS Deputy Commissioner Gary Stevenson said the partnership adds prediction markets as a new engagement format while positioning MLS as an early mover among global soccer properties.

Integrity safeguards and the broader 2026 backdrop

Alongside the digital roadmap, MLS said the partnership includes safeguards aimed at protecting match integrity. These measures include independent monitoring of trading activity, as well as collaboration on the MLS and Leagues Cup markets that are offered.

The announcement also comes as soccer’s profile in North America continues to rise ahead of the FIFA World Cup’s arrival in the region in 2026. MLS and Leagues Cup pointed to that momentum as a catalyst for expanding how fans engage with the sport in “meaningful and modern” ways now with prediction-market insights becoming part of the official mix.
