Italian Serie A club SS Lazio has announced Polymarket as its new title sponsor. The club announced the deal on April 18, and the company’s logo first appeared on the team’s uniform in the match against Napoli on the same day.

According to industry media reports, the agreement has already entered into force and covers the remainder of the current season, as well as the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons. The contract amount exceeds $22 million. The deal also includes an option to extend for another year, bonuses for sports results and marketing activations.

The Deal Goes Beyond Shirt Sponsorship

In addition to the title sponsor status, Polymarket has been assigned the role of the club’s official fan intelligence and digital insights partner. This means that collaboration includes working with fan data, digital insights, and other data-driven activities around audience engagement.

For Lazio, this is an important commercial deal after a long search for a front-line sponsor in the form. The club explicitly called the partnership part of the course towards international development and more modern brand positioning.

Polymarket’s Trading Functions Remain Limited in Italy

The key caveat of the deal is that Polymarket does not have an Italian ADM license for online gambling. Therefore, as noted by industry media, the partnership in Italy is focused on information and analytical services, rather than on the trading functions of the platform.

This coincides with Polymarket’s own rules: the service’s help states that in Italy, users can view markets and data, but cannot trade. Therefore, cooperation with Lazio does not look like the launch of betting functions in the country, but as an image and analytical integration around the club’s brand.
